The Little Princess Trust - A hairdresser's most important cut

It is lovely to see in recent weeks that OBA members and local hairstylists, Kayleigh Hale, from Hair By Kayleigh, and Emma Restell, from Emma Restell Hairdressing, have both been involved with sponsored haircuts for the amazing charity The Little Princess Trust.

Two brave young ladies joined the company of the Duchess of Cambridge and Harry Styles, having their long hair cut off to be made into real hair wigs for children and young adults who have sadly lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

The charity, The Little Princess Trust, was launched in 2006 by the parents of Hannah Tarplee, who was diagnosed with having a Wilms Tumour and sadly died in 2005. At the time, it was incredibly difficult to get high quality, real hair wigs for children, and those that were available, were incredibly expensive. With the help of friends and Hannah’s school, the Little Princess Trust was set up to provide free wigs, and has continued to thrive for the last 12 years.

Kayleigh and Emma find the process incredibly emotional, but also very fulfilling knowing they are cutting the hair for such an amazing cause, and of course, then having some fun doing a gorgeous restyle for the courageous and kind volunteer (now with significantly shorter hair!).

Well done to all involved - it is wonderful cause to support.
