OBA website launches
Today, after copious amount of planning and development, Overton Business Association’s new website went live.
With its fresh, clean look and easy to use navigation, Open Overton is a comprehensive directory of the local businesses in the village. There are already over 60 listed. The site also offers a useful calendar of events, information about the work of the Overton Business Association and features local business news and local businesses themselves.
Those who had seen a preview of the site described it as ‘appealing’, ‘interesting’ and ‘modern’. The OBA hope that the Open Overton website will be well used by the local community, as well as visitors to the area. It aims to become a one-stop resource for people looking for local services, facilities, products or crafts of any kind.
The ethos behind the whole project is to encourage people to ‘think local’ to support the growing village and its economy. Alexis Walmsley, Chair of the OBA said: “This has been a really important project to us. It is so difficult for small and micro businesses to survive these days so we want to do our best to help support and, importantly, promote them”.
Open Overton will only be as good as the engagement it attracts and the usage it sees, but this small village with a huge heart will no doubt do its best to make the website a success.
